Typically the Glitchdata community is unix oriented. No pissy Windows systems for us. Why? Unix based systems are just faster, clearer and cleaner to work with.

To get started, you will need to have knowledge of

  • ssh
  • ssh-agent
  • irc
  • rsync
  • mariadb
  • mysql
  • postgres

The Cloud

  • Amazon

Code Management

  • git - deploy code via git is fast.
  • Github

System Backup

  • Git forms a great platform for text-based code and data backups.
  • Bashup is a nice bash-based backup scripting system.
  • rsync is a quick simple method. Put it into a bash script, and its gets better.
